Stephanie’s Soon-To-Be New Car

Stephanie put a deposit down on this car the other day. (Yep, she picked the yellow and black.) She should get one sometime next year…

2022-03-17 Update:
We had this car for about 8 months and she sold it for more than she paid for it. The transmission on it was not great and it didn’t shift well. It lurched as the gears changed. Stephanie bought a VW Rabbit – Eddie Rabbit. He wears all black and loves a rainy night.

Happy Blogiversary, Honey!

It’s my girlfriend Stephanie’s first “blogiversary” – please go visit her page and say congratulations. Also, if you clicked on a google ad while you’re there, that would be great, too. We need the money. We have three houses, ya know. She updated her templates and added a blogroll – let her know if you want to be on it.

Gay Games, Opening Ceremonies

Stephanie can get on her Dad’s neighbor’s wireless network, but I can’t get on, so I can’t yet upload the bajillion pictures we’ve been taking. We bought a new camera for me — the Canon SD630 I’ve had my eye on for a while, and Stephanie’s adopted my slick little Canon SD10 Powershot, which she took on the field with her during the Opening Ceremonies, while I snapped pictures from up in the stands. The ceremony was great; lots of cool speakers and interesting entertainment. I especially loved Margaret Cho, and I also was impressed by the dance stuff right before the torch lit. And the fireworks in Soldier Field were awesome.
The ceremonies were really long though — they ended at midnight, and we still had to drive back to Valpo, so it was quite a late night, and we got up fairly early, too. We need some extra sleep.

Today Stephanie had a skaters meeting at the MeFetridge Ice Rink where she’ll be competing, and we went through the expo hall for the games collecting free stuff from all the vendors. gay.com was giving away some cool backpacks, and we got a lot of other fun swag. Stephanie also talked to a women’s book publisher who might have her freelance edit some fiction, which would rock pretty hard.

Stephanie has a blog

Last night we set up a blog for Stephanie. I’ll let her tell you where it is in the comments for this post, in case she wants to keep it secret or something.
We also set up a News feed reader for her, to make it easier to keep track of her favorite blogs, and we set up google ads for her, too. She’s also been working on getting her CDs ripped to mp3, and we found a site that lets you transfer files so she can get all her favorite mp3s from her old computer to her laptop.
This morning, I updated my post “All the blogs I read” an added a link to it into the right column of my site, so it’s easily accessible and Stephanie can pick and chose from some of my favorites to add to her feed reader.

I miss my girl!

Bluebird of Happiness
Bluebird of Happiness
As cool as it was to watch Stephanie’s whole road trip vacation online, it just wasn’t the same as having her here. I had a sort of half-way dream one night that maybe the whole relationship was only a figment of my imagination. So I got up and got one of the cards she gave me and put it next to the bed, so I could look at it and know I wasn’t making the whole thing up in my head. I really do have a girlfriend! That still surprises me sometimes. She should be home late tonight, and I’ll get to see her tomorrow. I can’t wait!

All Pods Go To Roswell

All Pods Go to Roswell
All Pods Go to Roswell
Every year in June, the town of Roswell, New Mexico plays host to the largest New Beetle Car Show in the world. Hundreds of New Beetle owners make their way to the famed UFO desert town in organized caravans for the 3 day event that includes a car show, parade, parties, rallies and a skywatch party where the explorers watch for the mothership to take all the pods back to the home planet.
