Crap. I hate that.

I hate it when some people are much funnier than I am. Miscellaneous, etc. does their version of the friday five, and it’s much better than mine. As if I needed to be reminded that I suck after getting stood up Sunday. Thanks.
Plus, for more things that make me feel inadequate, check out the site Damn Ass Hell Kings. That’s a truly kick-ass site design. And tagline: “It’ll be like Swiss Family Robinson. Only with more cursing.” I wish I’d thought of a funny tagline, and then added “with more cursing” on the end of it just like that. Sigh. I hate life.

New “links” on my blog

Check it out — I added a link to the bottom of each post, which you can use to link to a specific blog entry if you wish. I probably could have done that a long time ago, but this is the first time I’ve actually taken the time to look up how to change my template settings to create it.

I’m messing around right now with cascading stylesheets, testing how they work with the navigation links on the left of this page. So far, it’s working well. Now I’m looking at different sections of the site, and how to streamline using stylesheets so the pages will load faster and be lighter. The basic design will be the same, though. I’m just looking for ways to be more efficient.

Shamless Self-Promotion

Download the Alexa toolbar: http://www.alexa.com/. (PC users only; there’s no Mac toolbar at this time. Dammit!) Then spend some time clicking around my site looking at all the stuff on it. This will boost my traffic ratings.
Update: Lori e-mailed me to tell me that Alexa is considered to be spyware. Technically, it’s not. Spyware are hidden programs that are installed without your knowledge to record information for ad purposes. Alexa isn’t hidden, and you have to download it if you want it. Alexa does record and keep statistics of every site you surf on, but it doesn’t keep individual identities in their database or track anything to you specifically. Rather, it uses the data to rank the most popular and most visited sites on the internet, which is why I want people to do this and surf my site. But read the documentation on their site for more information if you are concerned.

Change of Scenery

It’s been pointed out to me, and probably rightly so, that I write a lot about our Stupid President. Well yes. And I write a lot of mean things. Well yes. And the person pointing this out mentioned it not because she likes the Stupid President (she doesn’t) but because she was concerned about how upset I am all the time about the Stupid President. And I guess that’s true, so now I will only write about how Stupid the President is on Mondays. The rest of the time, I will write about my life, and other funny and interesting stuff. Because despite how Stupid the President is, life is still something to be enjoyed at least 6/7ths of the time. The other 1/7th of the time, you should all be mad at the Stupid President.
And so, here’s something funny: How to kill your computer and other electronics.

Photos of My House

Reorganizing my photos is taking longer than I thought. I’m trying to organize them by room/area of the house, so you can see a progression of the work I’ve done in each room, but there are a lot of photos. I’ve got them all sorted out, but I threw away the original thumbnails, not wanting to risk sorting those too, so I’m recreating thumbnails for each photo. Tedious process. I’m only part way through the first floor. But it’s a better way to organize, so it will be worth it.
