Friday night I bought the digital camera that I had been looking at. It kicks ass. Saturday I took Spike up to visit my mom and see my niece. He had fun, and was completely tired out by the experience. Sunday Dan and Doug and Melissa and I went out to lunch and went shopping. Yeah! I got some cool shirts. We were going to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but Doug went home to nap and the rest of us ended up poking around a couple of used furniture/antique malls instead.

Spring Shopping

La la la… I love shopping. Well, when I can buy stuff, that is. Not when I can only look and not buy., as was the case for the past year or so. I bought several pairs of cargo shorts from OldNavy.com and two pairs from gap.com. It’s easier to buy pants online because they always have my size. I’ve been shopping at lunch twice this week, and this weekend I’m going shopping with Dan and Doug and Melissa. Woo hoo. I think I might also invest in a new digital camera, before I go on my late April road trip.

Complete Idiot’s Guide to Sunken Treasure and Ships

Now that I’ve finished my book club selections months early, my next reading endeavor is going to be “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Sunken Treasure and Ships.” Why? Because I won the book at work last year, but they were out of print, and they finally tracked down a copy and gave it to me. It’s a fun book, and I like treasure books. So that’s my next completely frivolous read.
For those of you who may not know this already, my company publishes The Idiot’s Guides series, along with lots of more serious text books and computer science books.

Weekend Update 2004-03-29

So I spent the whole weekend moving at a leisurely pace, which was very refreshing after months of whirlwind activity.
Friday night was Girl’s Game Night at Vic’s/Outword Bound, which is always very fun. I bought The Truth About Jane and Tipping the Velvet on DVD from Outword Bound, which now has an online store, by the way. Check it out and buy something. We played Apples to Apples and Catchphrase, which are fun standards. I brought one of my games, Teams of Enemies, but we had too many people to play it. Next month’s Very Special Girls Game Night will be held at my house for change of scenery.

You can’t Do That On Television

Wow, there’s a blast from the past… My friend Lori B. mentioned that she used to have a crush on Moose (Christine McGlade) the host of this Nickelodeon show… so did, I big time. I looked around for more info on her, but there doesn’t seem to be much on what she’s doing now, except a brief mention of her working for TVOntario.

Christine McGlade

UPDATE: Apparently, there’s a reunion/fan convention called “Slimecon 2004” for the show in Ottawa, Canada, July 16 – 18, 2004. This is the second, there was one in 2002 that Moose attended.

This weekend, I had Lori over to play games on Saturday, and later Melissa and I went out to Talbott Street. then on Sunday, Mike, Brent, Jim came over with all their equipment and had band practice in my foyer, along with their lead singer, Justin, who I met for the first time. They were really good. I was very impressed with their playing. It was cool.

Friday — Broadripple Brew Pub with co-workers. Fun, hangover.
Saturday morning — got my hair cut and highlighted. Looks good. Watched Phonebooth. I enjoyed that. Although I thought he was kinda dumb for not walking away from the booth after the first call. I also did a tiny bit of work in the front yard.
Sunday — Kathy and I spent the day painting the dining room. We finished up Monday night, and moved furniture in.
