Grrrrrrrrrr.
It’s very rare that I have one of those days where I want to stand up and quit my job in the middle of the meeting, because I’m so angry at everyone in the room – but I’m having one of those today.

Serious, it’s April, and I’m a bit tired of the cold. All last night I was freezing in bed, but I was too sleepy to actually get up and find another blanket. Can we get some more sun around here?
I have been terribly remiss on one aspect of my recent home sale – in all of the celebration over getting the thing finished, and the tearing out of the hair that came before it, I completely neglected to mention how awesome our Realtor is.

She comes by it naturally; Sherry’s mom was a real estate agent in Indianapolis for decades, and Sherry’s been at it for years, too.
Given the housing market slump recently, and the number of problems and things that went wrong on the way to getting my house sold, Sherry went far above and beyond what a real estate agent should be expected to do – she’s been a true friend and a spectacular, helpful person as well. Although I’m thankful we’re done with real estate transactions, I’m disappointed that I won’t be talking to Sherry every day or every other day – she’s one of those smart, insightful, funny people you just want to have around. I highly recommend her if you are planning to buy or sell your house in the Indianapolis area – if you call her, let me know; I’d love to hear about it. Also be sure to tell her we sent you.

Sherry’s Charity Triathlon
Sherry is also a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training, where she’s run three marathons to raise funds to fight cancer. She’s now in training for a triathlon, which I’m in awe of. She’ trying to raise $3,250.00 for this triathlon, and if you want to check out her donation page, I’m sure she’d be thrilled.
Mmmmm…. lamb. Like eating the baby Jesus on Easter.
UPDATE: It was delicious. It came marinated in a burgundy wine sauce with rosemary, and Stephanie baked it and served it with potatoes and vegetables. Yum!
Adding the Twitter RSS feeds of my friends and family members to my feed reader, so I can catch up with them later if I miss something.
I’m really excited that my sister Stacy is now on Twitter – just hearing little updates from England at about a 7 hour time shift is really entertaining, and especially just hearing the little things she does around the house. I know it’s minutiae to anyone else, but I like having a little window into her day, because I don’t get to call or write her enough, and sometimes a sentence or two is the most valuable thing.
My girlfriend Stephanie is on Twitter, too, so now I also know what’s going on in the kitchen when I’m in the library. Although twittering from your laptop just to hear the Twitterific tweeting from mine is a bit over the top, honey.
My friend Dan just got on twitter, too, which I is how I found out he just got a new laptop. That’s cool; even though he lives a couple blocks away, I haven’t talked to him nearly enough lately. Dan, you need to add Stephanie and Matt to your friends list.
My friend Matt has been on Twitter for a while, but he just started updating recently.
My friend Jonathan has been on for awhile, too – now that more of our friends are on, maybe he’ll post more regularly.
I think we need to start introducing treats into the fetch game for Spike, as incentive to bring back the object. Right now, we’re playing with lamb, hippo, frog, and monkey, and the only one he’ll bring back is frog, because it’s his favorite. Hmmm. Positive reinforcement required.
In the myriad of doctors appointments I have, I managed to forget the most important one – my Monday appointment with my new primary care physician. It was scheduled so far from when I actually made the appointment that I completely lost track of it- I thought it was on April 28th, which it turns out is actually supposed to be my pulmonologist’s appointment. And I see my cardiologist on April 12th at 1 p.m. And I’m completely pissed off at google calendar – I had it set to remind me two days before the appointment, and I didn’t get a reminder.
So I had to reschedule for my regular doctor, and the woman in the office was completely bitchy. I asked why they didn’t call to remind me of the appointment, and she said they have more important things to do, and that I need to learn to manage my time. Thanks. If you made appointments closer to the time that people ask for them, they might fucking remember them, thank you.
I couldn’t get an appointment before the April 16th, which means I’m seeing the cardiologist before my regular doctor, which is bound to be a complete and utter clusterfuck.
I really need one of these damn doctors to round up the others, put their heads together, and figure out what the fucking problem is, because at this point, my diagnoses are more accurate than any of theirs. I’m so fucking sick of being sick.
Flickr Photoset of Old Northside Neighborhood
Stephanie and I took the dog for a long walk around our gorgeous neighborhood this weekend, and I snapped a bunch for photos (148, to be exact) for my growing collection of pictures of our neighborhood.
We are very lucky to live in one of the most scenic neighborhoods in the city, in a modest house in the middle of some very grand mansions. I’ve been snapping pictures of the neighborhood since we moved in last year; the historic victorian architecture is amazing. Old Northside was one of the prominent neighborhoods in the late 1800s – the state’s prominent businessmen and politicians lived here. It was also the original home of Butler University, and the house in the photo above is the home of Ovid Butler, the founder of the university.
The 200 bulbs we planted last fall are coming up nicely in front of our house, and last night I planted 2 daisy plants and a lavender plant in the front. I also bought seeds for Columbines, Butterfly plants, and Delphiniums, and the other day Stephanie and I planted seeds in a starter kit for Texas Blue Bonnets and Aster.
I need to get some topsoil to prepare beds for our vegetables; we’re planting lettuce, cucumbers, sugar snap peas, green onions, rhubarb, radishes, oregano, parsley and basil. I hope. We need to get started soon. This is the first year I’ve planted vegetables, so I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing.
