Are men smarter than women? No. But they sure think they are. An analysis of some 30 studies shows that men and women are fairly equal overall in terms of IQ. But women, it seems, underestimate their own candlepower (and that of women in general), while men think they’re smarter than women.

According to Intelligence Ranking by breed:

Adaptive Intelligence (learning and problem-solving ability): this is specific to the individual animal and is measured by canine IQ tests.

Instinctive Intelligence: this is specific to the individual animal and is measured by canine IQ tests.

Working/Obedience Intelligence: this is breed dependent.

For my dog:

Chihuahua: 67 – Fair Working/Obedience Intelligence.
Shih Tzu: 70 – Lowest Degree of Working/Obedience Intelligence.

In other words, I have a pretty dumb dog. But that’s okay, because he’s CUTE.

Here’s a vignette we’re dying to see on the ABC broadcast of Sunday’s Ford’s Theatre Presidential Gala: When Stevie Wonder sat down at the keyboard center stage, President Bush in the front row got very excited. He smiled and started waving at Wonder, who understandably did not respond. After a moment Bush realized his mistake and slowly dropped the errant hand back to his lap. “I know I shouldn’t have,” a witness told us yesterday, “but I started laughing.”

There was an attempted Republican spin job after this that claimed it wasn’t true, but then a half dozen other witnesses came forward and said that it was.
