Cheesiest songs of the 70s – Fabulous! Do you have a similar list for the 80s, probably the worst decade for music….ever!!!
The funny thing is…I love just about every one of these songs! 🙂
Soul classics from likes of Isaac Hayes, Soul And Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Jean Knight, War, Rufus and Chaka Khan cheesy ? Geez, tough crtic. I would have thought singles by Dave Geddes, Austin Roberts were cheesy, not some of the most highly acknolwedged black singles of the 70’s.
You have a valid point there. This list started as a playlist for a 70’s party with cheesy hits at the theme, and then because it had to be a certain length we started adding recognizable, iconic songs too. So I should have changed the title to something more accurate when I put the list up on my site, but because we had been calling it by that name so many times in the party planning, it stuck, and I didn’t think of it.
177 Ain’t No Stopping Us Now – McFadden & Whitehead
If you think this song is cheesy, my husband who wrote and recorded the bass line for this song with his GOLD & PLATINUM records say different and….are laughing (cheesing) all the way to the bank!! lmao!!!!
#64 correction, Elton John with Kiki Dee not Neil Sedaka. Now the song Bad Blood is a different story.
cant remember the australian band of the 60/70s with the dark haired singer girl – i thought it was the seekers or the new seekers ?? Loved the girl singing.
