Makes sense – big businesses do it all the time. Cut your losses and move on, don't stay in a house that's underwater.
365 project – Day 7: Snow, snow, snow
I need to work on my snow photos, because this isn’t all that stellar. But it is a slice of life; we had several inches today.
I also finished up this hat today, which I’m quite proud of.
It goes with the scarf I made earlier.
In all, I need to stop taking photos in the kitchen, because the lighting isn’t great, and I hate our countertops as a backdrop. I need to get my makeshift studio up to speed.

A heartrending plea from a Afghan woman who wants to get her education and get out of an impossible situation.
365 project – Day 5: The Happy Hank Experiment
Today, we’re going to test out this monkey present I got from Stephanie’s niece for Christmas.
He supposedly grows to 600% his current size
Here’s all the terms of service and such. It takes 10 whole days for him to grow, so we’ll have to come back to see what he looks like.
He sure is happy.
Just under 2 inches tall.
This handy Hot Box Pizza cup will be our monkey pool.
Have fun in there, little dude.

McDonalds uses this – OMG this is gross. "Evidently, scraps of cow flesh, swept up from slaughterhouse floors and pulverized into a kind of paste, are moving through the tubes, subjected to a lashings of ammonium hydroxide to kill bacteria. The scene ends with those heavily protected workers carefully packing uniform flesh-colored blocks into boxes. “This is our finished product,” the executive declares. He then claims that the product ends up in 70 percent of hamburgers served in the U.S. “In five years we’ll be in 100 percent,” he predicts."

A new year means a chance to leave some of the tired words and phrases of 2009 in the past. At least that's the theory of the wordsmiths at Lake Superior State University, who released their 35th annual (deep breath) List of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness.

In Michigan, the three churches at the center of this storm are Agape Christian Church, Word for Life Church of God, and Centerpoint Church. They were part of a ministry known as Martha's Table, which brought together eight different faith congregations to provide meals and worship space to the homeless. Only for these three churches, the fact that some of the other participating faith bodies take a progressive stand on homosexuality is enough to say to Kalamazoo's homeless, "We don't want you."

Even after meeting with Uganda to discuss the bill, American Evangelicals are claiming they didn't expect the death penalty – liars. They consulted on it.
365 project – Day 4
The view from my window at work. BRRRRRR. I hate leaving the house in cold weather. When does spring roll around? Oh, wait, we have a lot to do before then. Like prepping for our trip to England. We’re taking my mom to see my sister and her kids. Should be fun. Dunno how I’d do the photo a day project there; I’ll have to work something out.
365 project – Day 3
D’oh! I forgot to take a photo.
But this is why it’s about setting a goal, not making a resolution — I’m not going to make it a habit if I stop now that I’ve blown the perfect record. (And so early in the game, too!)
I spend a good chunk of the day getting stuff done around the house this January 3rd, and in the process, I forgot to grab the camera. On cold days, I tend to do the nesting thing where I stay indoors and putter around the house doing laundry and watching HGTV, and that doesn’t lend itself to getting pictures taken.
Indoors = low light = not always the prettiest pictures.
Well, upward and onward – I’ll nail it tomorrow.
