I’ve done this meme a half-dozen times before, but it’s always different because the books is never the same.
Rules for this Experiment:
- Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
- Turn to page 56.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post that sentence along with these instructions.

Books I’ve Read Recently – July 2009 updated
I’ve finished two of my Project Fill-in-the-gaps books – The Book Thief and Motherless Brooklyn, and filled in with some paperback mysteries and fun stuff. Right now I’m slogging through some titles for work, and enjoying the guilty pleasure of Ana Marie Cox’s thinly-veiled political fiction.

"Two French students were awarded the annual Grand Prix du Photoreportage Etudiant last week to honor a photographic story that presented images documenting the precarious lives of students today and the things they must do in order to survive and succeed.
The only catch is that the entire story was a fake."
A brilliant fake – the photos were incredible, and the photojournalism clichés they exposed were precise.
