Mildred’s House of Signage

Tracy Jo Seneca has been roaming the streets of Chicago with a camera in search of interesting, unusual and strange signs. My favorite so far: The Mexican Pagoda Sign. Kind of reminds me of a restaurant here in Indianapolis called the “Oriental Smorgasbord.” Also, Rosario’s Italian Sausage, where the pigs just happily jump into the meat grinder. Mmmmm. Sausage.

Doggie News

Spike went to the vet today. He got his first shot, and he got flea medicine. He also got some gluecose, because he has low blood sugar, which is common for tiny doggies. That’s why they shiver even when it’s not cold. He just has to have glucose three times a day at meals. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to give to him. He’s sleeping now because he’s all worn out from the shot. We have to go back to the vet in three weeks. The vet also told me how to make a little doggie sweater for him, because he’s too small to wear the extra small size.

My Precious New Baby

Tonight after work I get to bring my brand new puppy Spike home. I think I have everything ready. We’ve got: kennel, baby gates, collar, leash, tie-up line for outside, puppy chow, canned puppy food, puppy biscuits, training treats, nylabones, chew bones, a kong toy, a stuffed hippo, a brush, a fine-tooth comb, puppy shampoo, tons of newpaper, cleaning supplies. I still need to buy a doggy bed, but I didn’t like the ones I saw, so I’ll shop for that today. And we have a vet appointment. Yup, I think I’m ready.

House Photos

I just finished updating all of my photo galleries: both the regular gallery , and the house photos. I finished the thumbnail pages so you can see all the photos in a section at once, then click for the large photo. I was a bit behind (6 months) on doing that!
UPDATE: I later took these photos down because someone used them to locate my house and stalk me, sadly.

Viva Las Vegas!

Wow. So that was Las Vegas. Wow. And I didn’t lose much money. Cool. This was a great trip! I didn’t think I’d care for Vegas because it’s so artificial, but I LOVED it.

Mandalay Bay

Hello!

We went for a friend’s wedding and stayed at Circus Circus. I went with Dan and Douglas, and we spent most of one day visiting many of the casinos on the strip; we started at the south end at Mandalay Bay and had a drink and played some slots and took photos at various casinos as we headed back north.

house hunting

So, I saw the house and took photos and made an offer on it. I’m not going to put any of the photos on the site yet, because every time I do that, I find out I’m not getting the house. This time I’m waiting until I know more, which may be awhile. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy the holidays. The annual dinner/white elephant gift exchange at Buca Di Beppo’s is tonight. I’ve got a great thing to give away, (no hints until it’s over) so it should be fun.

This was the house. I did not get it. It sold to some investors for $40,000 and the flipped it for $250,000. Then the new owners got into trouble and it sat empty for a long time. I believe it may be a rental.
