Look right there! Pictures of my girlfriend!
Yup, I have finally managed to steal some time away from other stuff I’m required to do in order to put some recent pictures up… including pictures of my adorably cute girlfriend Stephanie. Isn’t she amazing?
Coming soon: pictures of the party I threw back in March, featuring my friend’s band, Susan May Kill You.
Wil Wheaton and I have some of the same photos…
Wil took an eastbound trip from California to Vegas along old Route 66, and during the trip he overlapped with some of the route of my 1998 road trip with Laurie and Twyla to help them move out to Arizona. He has several photos that are the same as mine… the largest cross in the western hemisphere, the leaning water tower, the giant cowboy, and several photos in Shamrock, Texas, including one of a beautiful 50’s cafe. This is his photo, and here’s mine:
UPDATE: In the summer of 2007, I took a long roadtrip on Route 66.
Wash Me
I love fun photography sites… here’s a new one: Wash Me; photos of dirty cars where people have scrawled messages in the dirt. I should send them the one I took a few years back….
Speaking of fun photography sites, two of my favorites, Phoons, and Statue Molesters are still going strong.
September 20th, 2002
Everybody seems to be remarking on the 1-year anniversary of the tornado that struck Indianapolis. I tend to remember the date because it was day I learned that my cat Idgie was dying. I had to have her put to sleep the next day.
I sat down today with Dru and Huck and Annabelle and petted all of them and talked to them about Idgie.
A Cat Named Dru
I have completely failed to mention that I have a brand-new cat courtesy of my girlfriend Kathy. Well, she’s new to me, really, but I think she’s a year old or so. I have named her Drusilla, who was Spike’s girlfriend on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Apparently Drusilla is also from the Bible. Who knew?
I will post photos of the new resident, as soon as I can take some. Right now, she’s hiding under my bed. She came out about 4 a.m. this morning to use the litter box, and then around 5:30 a.m., she came out and was playing with the kitty gymnasium I bought her. But when I moved and she realized I was there, she dove back under the bed. She’s dark grey all over with green eyes, and is very pretty, although obviously quite shy. She isn’t ferocious, though, like Idgie was, so she won’t terrorize house guests.

Doggie News
Spike went to the vet today. He got his first shot, and he got flea medicine. He also got some gluecose, because he has low blood sugar, which is common for tiny doggies. That’s why they shiver even when it’s not cold. He just has to have glucose three times a day at meals. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to give to him. He’s sleeping now because he’s all worn out from the shot. We have to go back to the vet in three weeks. The vet also told me how to make a little doggie sweater for him, because he’s too small to wear the extra small size.
My Precious New Baby
Tonight after work I get to bring my brand new puppy Spike home. I think I have everything ready. We’ve got: kennel, baby gates, collar, leash, tie-up line for outside, puppy chow, canned puppy food, puppy biscuits, training treats, nylabones, chew bones, a kong toy, a stuffed hippo, a brush, a fine-tooth comb, puppy shampoo, tons of newpaper, cleaning supplies. I still need to buy a doggy bed, but I didn’t like the ones I saw, so I’ll shop for that today. And we have a vet appointment. Yup, I think I’m ready.

weekend update 2002-08-19
It wasn’t the best weekend I’ve ever had. My sister’s going back to England to live, and I had to say goodbye to her Saturday. I’m happy for her that’s she’s going back, because she really likes it there, but I’ll miss her. On Sunday, I went to Kokomo and Peru Indiana to photograph big things, which was cool, but on the way back, my brakes started grinding. So I had to take the car in and spend the afternoon getting new brakes put on, which really sucks, because I was just starting to really get ahead financially after buying the house. Very annoying. But at least I have new brakes. And photos of big things.
Viva Las Vegas!
Wow. So that was Las Vegas. Wow. And I didn’t lose much money. Cool. This was a great trip! I didn’t think I’d care for Vegas because it’s so artificial, but I LOVED it.
We went for a friend’s wedding and stayed at Circus Circus. I went with Dan and Douglas, and we spent most of one day visiting many of the casinos on the strip; we started at the south end at Mandalay Bay and had a drink and played some slots and took photos at various casinos as we headed back north.
