Conservative extremist blogger J. Grant Swank, Jr. says celebrities should shut up about their contributions (Sandra Bullock– $1 million) but that it’s okay that Bush is making a big production of his $10,000.
Conservative extremist cartoonist Chuck Asay trashes the United Nations for pointing out that our $15 million pledge was stingy, and suggests they should be grateful for our help in Iraq, too, even though that we caused that disaster ourselves looking for the mythical WMD.
And they there are those stalwart patriots at the Free Republic, who think we should “Let the ragheads take care of their own” and that the tsunami happened because “God is angry with the wickedness of fornication and sodomy.”
And meanwhile, the heart-wrenching images of destruction from the worst natural disaster in recent memory keep rolling in.
Republicans and compassion just don’t seem to go together, do they?
