Damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t

The day after Hillary Clinton delivered one of the best political speeches in American history — CNN has come out with this bit of fucking loveliness:

(CNN) — What did Hillary Clinton’s body language give away at the Democratic National Convention?
Dan Hill, a body language expert and author of “Face Time,” told CNN that even while the words Clinton delivered offered an unequivocal endorsement of Barack Obama, her body language was much less affirmative.

“When she spoke about Obama, she really did not emote very much,” Hill said. “The only thing she showed was a very weak smile, the cheeks didn’t tend to lift very much, it was really almost what I would call a ‘crocodile smile’ where even the slight corners of the lips sometimes raise into a little bit of a smirk.”

“I don’t think that helped move the 30 percent of her supporters who say they won’t vote for Obama,” Hill added. “What she did do was appeal to voters at large, that she did more emotionally.”

What the hell do you want the woman to do? Fuck Obama on stage to show how much she supports him? Shine his shoes and iron his shirt on stage? Jesus fucking Christ on god damned cracker.

Clinton just can’t fucking win, no matter what she does or says.

It’s like they want her to fucking apologize for running the first place, and they want those of us who voted for her to apologize for doing it.

FUCK THAT NOISE. Fuck it all to hell.

When the mother fuck are Obama supporters going to learn that SHITTING ALL OVER HILLARY AND HER SUPPORTERS IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THEM WANT TO VOTE FOR HIM?

And the notion that there are 30% of her supporters that “aren’t going to vote for him” is bullshit. We’ll all vote for him if we absolutely have to, but we don’t have to like it, because he isn’t the best candidate.

why are you blaming obama supporters for something CNN said?

I’m not blaming them for CNN – I’m blaming them for every other shit thing I’ve heard them say over the last 3 days.
I’ll sit down an link a comprehensive list of the fucking bullshit I’ve heard over the last two weeks later tonight — on twitter from my friends, in blogs, in comments on political sites I read.
The CNN bullshit is just part and parcel of a whole pervasive load of utter crap directed at Clinton from the mainstream media, from Obama supporters and from the Obama campaign staff as well. It’s a zeitgeist that I shouldn’t have to point to and link to because it’s fucking everywhere — and I’m fucking sick and tired of it.

My sentiments exactly. I’ll vote for him because he’s the nominee, OK? But I won’t be jumping up and down about it. The candidate who inspired me to believe for just a moment in real change is out. The least folks can do is quit shitting all over her. I won’t be canvassing for Obama. It will take all the enthusiasm I can muster to drag myself to the poll to help prevent a 3rd Republican term.
And don’t tell me Obama supporters wouldn’t feel the same way if Hillary was the nominee right now.

Stephanie, calm down, you are getting sucked in by talking head points that are being brought in by the right in order to divide the party… you should see that. If you would listen to Rush Limbaugh from time to time you would know that he asks his listeners to pose as liberals on blogs as both obama insiders or hillary supporters, in order to throw dissension among democrats. If you fall prey to this, then you let them succeed at what they want. Division.

New rule – If you ever tell me to “calm down” you will walk away with a broken jaw — doubly so if you’re my brother.
What Todd is saying is bull. I’m listening to people I know shit on
Hillary. That’s not a talking head when I’m hearing it coming out of
someone’s idiot mouth with my own ears.
I know what shit gets placed into comments by Limbaugh supports – I’ve
heard enough sock puppets to recognize them, and to factor that out of
    the equation.

And I’d like to point out the most delicious irony I’ve heard in a long time — my brother Todd is the king of “create loud screaming matches, go on and on without listening to the people talking to him, and reiterate points over and over at ever increasing volumes.”
Him telling ME to “calm down” is the supreme act of lack of self-awareness that I’ve ever witnessed, and deeply, deeply funny.

I don’t know why you are so upset at my comment Steph, or why you would attack me for it either. As an Obama supporter, I and the people I know and have talked to all thought that Hillary Clinton did a great job with the speech and showed that the democratic race was a close race between two very competent and excellent candidates. The very first speech she gave back in June with Obama was enough to say she was in favor of a democrat winning the ticket and all I have heard in the press is constant conjecturing about whether or not she really wants a democrat to win, or whether Bill Clinton really likes Obama and it is all just B.S. Who are they to claim to know what the motivations of these people are. And facial expression reading? I’ve never seen them pull that out when Condy Rice always shakes her head no when she says yes on topics that she obviously doesn’t really support, like winning the war in Iraq, or that the President has made great strides in the war on the word “terror”. It was the article that I was responding to for the most part, and I’m sorry if some of the people you know are re-iterating the talking heads on tv, but that just shows that they can’t think for themselves and need talking points as guidelines. It still doesn’t pay to give them credence or to let them do what they want, which is to have great controversy to boost the ratings. Maybe using the words calm down were not quite the way I should have worded it, but I do think that getting equating the “news” article as being something that reflects what most Obama supporters believe is a stretch. As for being the King of the loud screaming matches, I will admit that I have had my share of rants, but I don’t think I am necessarily the king. More a royal prince in a family of argumentative and opinionated royal asses, of which you are an equally deserving member. Maybe the only difference would be that most of us in this family would not bring those negative things that all families have out in a public forum. But that’s fine. It’s free speech and you are entitled to it, regardless of who it hurts. As was the gentleman standing outside your wedding bitching about the world going to hell, entitled to say what he felt was right. Of course, I did tell that man to go f himself, because I have always felt that family is more important than anyone else in this world. Just as I think that the democrats should put party above politics. That’s my opinion.

I don’t think I even need to reply to that, do I? That pretty much says it all. Have fun at the holidays; I won’t be there.
